Wissahickon Skating Club
Home of the Philadelphia Symmetry Synchronized Skating Teams
All members of the synchro team must be a member of the Wissahickon Skating Club. The WSC membership entitles the skater to free ice time on designated freestyle, dance and group sessions including synchronized practice ice and coaching fees. The club season runs from September 4th – March 16th. There are several membership levels available. If you are accepted to the team, your team manager will walk you through the WSC membership process.
- WSC holds quarterly USFS test sessions. The next test session will be May 17th, 2008 in the morning. You can get the forms at WSC or download this TEST FORM
- WCS Summer Camp, August 18th to 22nd, 11:30am to 4:30pm. Cost is $250 with a 10% discount for deposits received by May 1st. download brochure
This camp is geared towards girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 15 who have a total comfort on the ice and have fully mastered skating both forwards and backwards. Skaters will receive on-ice training including: moves in the field, jumps, spins, power skating, synchro, stroking, edges, choreography, ice dancing, ice games and theater on ice. Off-ice training includes: warm ups, conditioning, pilates, ballet, hip hop, choreography, tumbling, and nutrition.
A light snack will be provided courtesy of the WFSF. Pick up a brochure at the rink or download brochure .
- Wissahickon Skating Club holds two Jr. Figure Skating Exhibitions each club season in December and March. All club figure skater members are invited to skate individual and group numbers. All synchro teams will perform. Exhibitions are free to the public.
- Wisscapades is elaborate skating exhibition that includes guest star skaters and all members of the WSC. They are held every other or every third year, the next Wisscapades will be in March 2009.
- INTRO TO SYNCHRO class, are held in the fall and spring. Free to WSC members, $80 nonmembers. The class will perform in the WSC Jr. Figure Exhibitions. Contact: Ashleigh Renard, Director of Synchro.

From Downtown or South Philadelphia
Take I-76 west to exit 340A. Follow the signs for Lincoln Drive. Follow Lincoln Drive approximately 2.7 miles to the eighth traffic light. Turn left onto McCallum Street. Go 1 mile to the Stop sign at Mermaid Lane. Turn Right onto Mermaid Lane and go one block to Cherokee Street. Turn left onto Cherokee and go three blocks to Willow Grove Avenue. The club is on the corner to your right. The driveway entrance is on Willow Grove Avenue.
From the Main Line
Follow the Blue Route I-476 to exit 19, Germantown Pike. As you exit you will be on Chemical Road until it intersects at Germantown Pike. Turn Right onto Germantown Pike and follow it eastbound towards Philadelphia for approximately 5 miles to Chestnut Hill. Germantown Pike turns into Germantown Avenue. You will pass Chestnut Hill College and Chestnut Hill Hospital on your left. Germantown Avenue turns into a cobblestone street at the 8600 block. Continue to the 8000 block where you will turn right at Willow Grove Avenue. There is a traffic light on the corner of Germantown and Willow Grove. Follow Willow Grove Avenue 7/10 of a mile. The club driveway will be on your left, with a Red, White and Blue sign at the entrance.
From the North or Fort Washington (Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit 339)
Follow Route 309 South to the Paper Mill exit. Turn right onto Paper Mill Road and go 1/4 mile to the 2nd light. Turn left onto Cheltenham Avenue. Go 1 mile to the 1st light. Turn Right onto Willow Grove Avenue. Follow Willow Grove Avenue 2.4 miles to the Skating Club. Our driveway will be on your left with a Red, White and Blue sign at the entrance.
From Northeast Philadelphia
Follow Cheltenham Avenue past Cedarbrook Mall and Easton Road to Willow Grove Avenue. Turn left onto Willow Grove. Follow WIllow Grove Avenue 2.4 miles to the Skating Club. Our driveway will be on your left with a Red, White and Blue sign at the entrance.
